Executive and Leadership Coaching

"I think that the essence of coaching is the conviction that buried somewhere in the heart and mind of my client resides the means and ideas for achieving personal and career objectives. As a coach, I primarily serve as the thinking and motivational partner who works hard to inspire that level of self-discovery." Patrick Rainey, Performance Dashboard President, MBA, former CEO, and Certified Professional Coach.

Our coaching practice at Performance Dashboard is a result of our collective experiences as enterprise C-suite leaders. We have experienced the blood, sweat, and tears that go into leading companies, teams, and departments of all shapes and sizes. We have experienced the pain of failures and the exhilaration of successes in private and nonprofit endeavors. We are at the point of our careers where it is both motivating and extremely satisfying to use our experiences to help our coaching clients get the most from theirs.

Our coaching model is structured and goal directed to enhance a client's determination to take action and increase learning agility. We engage in a deliberate process of observation, inquiry, and dialogue to help a client discover and commit to achieving goals. This makes us idea, thinking, and accountability partners with our coaching clients.

Most of our coaching engagements are with clients who have both developmental and remedial needs. All of our coaching engagements begin with an understanding of confidential relationship between the coach and client. Often our relationship is with a client whose organization is arranging and funding the engagement. It is our position that the relationship with the client is still confidential and any reporting to the sponsoring organization about the client is with client permission and participation.

Assessments, depending on a client's wishes and needs, can be an important part of the engagement process. At least one of our coaches, Dr. Leland and Pat, are certified in the following assessment tools:

  • MBTI
  • EQi-2.0
  • EQi-2.0 360
  • Various 360 Multi-Rater Instruments
  • FIRO-B
  • DISC

We believe that Emotional Intelligence (EI) skills are integral for success as a leader and we frequently spend time with our coaching clients both assessing their EI skill level and helping them advance EI through observation and practice. This is an area that we might recommend the use of video if the client is open to it.

Pat leads our coaching practice. He can be reached at [email protected] and 816-507-8244.
